Need the car rather than the guide? See economy car rental at Hobby Airport for the fleet, prices and free delivery. Call or text 813-921-6973.
Most Galveston cruises sail on Saturdays and Sundays, and most passengers fly into Hobby the day before. The cruise shuttles are $40 to $60 per person each way; a Toyota Corolla or similar for the day is $89 with the delivery at the curb and the collection at the port included.
The plan
- Land at Hobby; the car is at the arrivals curb with your flight tracked.
- Dinner in Houston or drive straight to Galveston for the night before; the Strand and the seawall are an hour from the airport.
- Sailing day: drive to the cruise terminal at Pier 10 or Pier 25; we collect the car there.
- On return, we deliver at the port again for a day on the island, or meet you at Hobby for the flight home.
Which car
A couple takes the Honda Civic or similar; a family of four with cruise luggage takes the Hyundai Santa Fe or similar or the Mazda CX-5 or similar; two couples take the Honda Accord or similar. The Jeep Wrangler Sport or similar is the one for the extra beach day on Bolivar.
Timing
Hobby to the port is forty minutes on I-45 on a weekday and an hour on a Sunday morning. The terminals open four hours before sailing. If you land at IAH instead, add forty-five minutes; we deliver there too.
Pick a category and your dates on the Houston fleet page, or call or text 813-921-6973. We confirm by phone within the hour, deliver free, and the price you see is the price you pay.

Yes. We collect at the port on the day you sail and can deliver there again when you return, or meet you at Hobby.
How long is the drive from Hobby to the port?
About forty minutes down I-45 outside rush hour; allow an hour on a Sunday sailing day.
Is a rental cheaper than a cruise shuttle?
For two or more people, usually yes, and you keep the car for the day before the cruise.
