Westlake sits just across MoPac and Lady Bird Lake from downtown, but it feels like the start of the Hill Country: the City of West Lake Hills and Rollingwood on the hills above Bee Caves Road, office buildings strung along Loop 360, the Barton Creek greenbelt in the canyons below, and Davenport Ranch up toward the Pennybacker Bridge. Most households here already have cars. They rent when one breaks, when family flies in, or when a business visitor needs a car for the week. We deliver to the house, the office or the hotel, and collect it when you are done.
It is the same fleet and the same terms as our economy car rental Austin service: no counter, no airport fees, basic liability included.

Westlake is not Lake Travis
The name confuses visitors. Westlake refers to the hills west of downtown along Lake Austin, the narrow stretch of the Colorado River held back by Tom Miller Dam. Lake Travis, with its marinas, coves and rental lake houses, is another 20 to 25 minutes west on RM 2244 and RM 620. If your trip is about the big lake, our Lakeway and Bee Cave car rental page covers that side, and the Lake Travis weekend guide helps plan it. This page is for the neighborhoods and offices closer in.
What Westlake rents
Replacement cars
The most common booking is a household whose car is at the dealer or the body shop. We bring a Honda CR-V or similar or a Hyundai Santa Fe or similar to the driveway so nobody has to arrange a ride to a rental office across town. If insurance is paying, see replacement car rental.
Visiting family
Grandparents in for a week, cousins for Thanksgiving, a college student home for the summer without a car. A Toyota Corolla or similar parked in the driveway keeps everyone on their own schedule. When the whole family needs to move at once, the seven-seat Ford Explorer or similar takes them to dinner in one trip.
Business visitors on Loop 360
Loop 360, the Capital of Texas Highway, is lined with office buildings between Bee Caves Road and US 183, and many visitors stay downtown or at a resort and drive out each day. The Honda Accord or similar is the usual pick, and companies with regular visitors can use corporate car rental. Executives who prefer something larger can book the electric Cadillac Escalade IQ or similar, which seats seven and has more than 400 miles of range.
Getting around from Westlake
Downtown is about 10 minutes away by MoPac or Bee Caves Road without traffic, although the MoPac bridge over Lady Bird Lake backs up at rush hour. The airport is about 25 minutes: south on MoPac or Loop 360 to Ben White Boulevard, then east on US 290 and SH 71. Our AUS airport rental page explains the curbside handoff.
Loop 360 is one of the best-looking drives in the city. North of Westlake it crosses Lake Austin on the Pennybacker Bridge, and the rocky overlook beside the bridge is a popular stop for photos at sunset. To the south, the Barton Creek Greenbelt has trailheads off Loop 360 and in the neighborhoods below it; a compact SUV such as the Ford Bronco Sport or similar handles the gravel lots and the muddy shoes. West on Bee Caves Road you reach Bee Cave in about 15 minutes, and US 290 West heads toward Dripping Springs and the wineries; see Dripping Springs car rental and the Hill Country day trips.
Holidays, school weeks and errands
Westlake bookings rise and fall with the calendar. Thanksgiving and the December holidays bring houses full of relatives who each want to come and go. Spring break brings college students home. Fall Fridays bring families to Westlake High School football. The pattern is the same each time: one more car than the household owns, for a week or two, parked in the driveway.
Daily life here also runs on short drives. Barton Creek Square, the mall at MoPac and Loop 360, is a few minutes away, and so are the grocery stores and shops along Bee Caves Road. A small car such as the Honda Civic or similar is easy on narrow hill streets and in crowded holiday parking lots.
Delivery to homes, offices and resorts
Tell us the address and the time. Many Westlake streets are steep and winding and some neighborhoods are gated, so we meet you wherever is easiest: the driveway, the gate or the front of the office building. Resort guests in the Barton Creek area can have the car brought to the main entrance. The handoff takes about ten minutes, and the booking is confirmed by phone within the hour.
Longer stays cost less per day: three days or more are cheaper, a week cheaper still. For a month, see monthly car rental or call or text 512-851-0490.

Basic liability coverage is included; the refundable deposit and the coverage options are explained before you pay anything. There is no airport concession fee and no facility charge. Common questions
How far is Westlake from the airport?
About 25 minutes without traffic: south on MoPac or Loop 360 to Ben White Boulevard, then east on US 290 and SH 71. We meet you at the AUS arrivals curb or deliver to the house.
Is Westlake on Lake Travis?
No. Westlake sits on the hills above Lake Austin, close to downtown. Lake Travis is 20 to 25 minutes further west, and our Lakeway and Bee Cave page covers that side.
Do you deliver to gated neighborhoods?
Yes. We meet you at the gate or at your driveway, whichever is easier; just tell us how guests usually get in. Delivery and collection are included.
Can you bring a car while mine is at the dealer?
Yes. We bring a Honda CR-V or similar or another car you choose to the driveway and collect it when yours is ready. The replacement car rental page explains insurance bookings.
Which car for the Greenbelt and Hill Country drives?
A compact SUV such as the Ford Bronco Sport or similar or the Mazda CX-5 or similar. Trailhead lots can be gravel and shoes come back muddy. For a family day trip, the Hyundai Santa Fe or similar has room for four bags.
